Last week, I brought you the harrowing findings from our latest investigation at an ‘outdoor bred’ pig farm in Herefordshire, which revealed sick animals dumped into a pen and left to suffer out of sight. Today, I am writing to you with the kind of news that only happens because people like you refuse to look away. Bage Court Farm’s pig operation has been completely shut down.
There are no longer any pigs on site. No more individuals will endure the nightmare of Bage Court Farm. This is a massive victory! The pig industry has shunned them. Contracts have been cut. And it happened because you made it possible. Your generous support funded the undercover exposé that unveiled the truth – and as a direct result, there is one less pig farm operating in the UK today.
It has now been confirmed that Stockcroft, which contracted the site to fatten pigs, has severed ties with the farm, meaning it no longer holds RSPCA Assured certification. While RSPCA Assured pride themselves on creating a ‘higher welfare’ supply chain, they did not directly remove the farm’s assurance. The certification was only revoked after Stockcroft withdrew from the site.
In fact, after receiving our evidence, RSPCA Assured visited the farm and stated they “were reassured to see the pigs on site at the time were clean, active and had plenty of enrichment and straw to root around in.” This is yet another stark reminder that welfare labels and assurance schemes will never be enough to protect animals behind closed doors.

This is what strategic, relentless campaigning looks like. We expose the truth and pushback against industry propaganda. As a result, we gain tangible wins for our fellow animals.
This is clear proof that we can make a difference. Right now, there are many more farms just like Bage Court that are operating under the same hollow assurances. Animals are suffering, but we can do something about it.
We will not stop until we see the pig industry – and all of animal agriculture – shut down, even if that means taking them on one farm at a time.
When we stand together, work strategically and lead with our hearts, we win, and the animals win. Thank you for being a part of this movement.
As always,
For the animals.
