We disrupted the UK's biggest animal ag show of the year.

Despite temperatures reaching record-breaking levels this week, the Royal Norfolk Show still went ahead. It’s the biggest two-day animal ag show of the year, and myself and another animal advocate jumped into the main arena to disrupt the happenings.

We chanted “stop gassing pigs to death”, directly confronting the very people who profit from, or support, animals entering gas chambers where they suffocate and take their final, painful breath in fear and darkness.

Just before we launched into the Grand Ring, horses were forced to jump over high hurdles as they frothed at the mouth and sweated through their coats. Behind us, cows were paraded around as their handlers pulled on their face halters, alongside pigs who were hit with wooden canes.

This farce of a show is marketed as a fun day out for families and animal lovers, yet it’s exploitative to its core.

This week, we’ve taken our mobile gas chamber across London, Norfolk, Spalding and Hull. We have a lot to fill you in on, but for now, we are grateful that we have you by our side. We risked our own safety to get the message out there in Norfolk, surrounded by thousands of farmers and their supporters, but it’s a message that needs to be heard.

90% of British pigs are gassed to death, and the public simply have no idea. It’s our duty to inform them and to push to shut this system down.

We must Turn Off The Gas!

We simply cannot call ourselves a nation of animal lovers whilst we force millions of animals into gas chambers or parade them around arenas in 30 degree heat.

We’re facing a long battle against animal exploitation, but we’re not giving up.

As always,

For the animals.
