After two long years of working alongside Trading Standards, we have justice.

It happened! Steven Woolger, a pig farm worker from Norfolk, has been sentenced following our exposé that revealed grotesque abuse towards boars on an Innovis Ltd farm. After working alongside Trading Standards for almost two years, we called for justice, and today we heard the results in the courtroom.

What we uncovered from behind closed doors has now been recognised in a court of law. Woolger has been given a 17-week suspended sentence, ordered to pay costs amounting to £1,654, and most importantly, given a 10-year ban on keeping or working with animals who are farmed.

This is accountability in action and shows exactly why our undercover investigations are so vital. No one was watching Steven until we filmed him. Until our investigation exposed his abusive behaviours that are inherent in the pig industry.

This is both a time to celebrate and reflect. The boars that languished at the hands of the Innovis worker finally have justice, but Innovis walked away without a single repercussion. This highlights two key issues: a paradox whereby the company that profits from systemic abuse is free to walk, and the failure of local authorities holding those responsible accountable.

If it wasn’t for our team being so relentless and detailed in our work, this case would never have made it to court. Trading Standards had one job – to prosecute those responsible – but they didn’t fully succeed. Steven Woolger may have pleaded guilty and been sentenced, but those boars deserved so much more.

We want to see more accountability. More action. More justice. Do you? Please donate today.

I want you to take this momentous win and let it inspire you. Let it rekindle the flame for justice and fuel us in everything that we do. We cannot do this alone, but with our wonderful supporters by our side, we can head towards a kinder future for everyone. When we say we want justice, we don't just mean banning abusers from working on farms. We want to see the pig industry crumble around us.

As always,

For the animals.
