The oat milk wave keeps building. Two more cafés have now joined our Udderly Kind campaign, making oat milk the default as part of a trial period, all here in Nottingham, with even more to come in the city.

That's seven cafés and counting, from London to Bristol to Brighton, and now Nottingham. It's the start of a shift we intend to make permanent, café by café, city by city, until oat is simply what's poured, not what's requested.

Deli-cious Chocolate 

Deli-cious Chocolate offers creative chocolate-making sessions alongside handmade cakes, great coffee and food, based inside the National Justice Museum on High Pavement, Nottingham. It's a spot suited to all kinds of occasions, whether that's a family outing, a catch-up with friends, or a treat with colleagues.

Alongside the chocolate sessions and homemade bakes, the café was just as open to trying something new with its milk. It's a small change on the surface, but one that reflects the same spirit of experimentation the café is already known for. 

We asked the owner, Lisa, why she decided to take part in the trial:

"Oat milk is my milk of choice, because I have osteoarthritis, and I find it's much healthier for your body than cow's milk. So I just wanted to see how customers reacted. We've had a little bit of 'oh, go on, we'll try it,' and some people we've managed to persuade have been pleasantly surprised."

Sipping Boba 

Sipping Boba is Nottingham's only soufflé pancake spot, also known for its bubble tea, and has built a loyal following among locals looking for something a bit different from the usual coffee shop offering. The café is part of a small chain with two branches across the city and another in Birmingham, and the team is now considering rolling the trial out further.

We caught up with the store manager to see how it's going, and asked whether they'd recommend the trial to another business. They said:

"A lot of customers see the poster that we post outside and they actually ask for the oat milk option. Yeah, I would definitely give it a go because our company love it. And maybe your customer might love it too."
